Benidorm is famous for its superb beaches and visitors looking to sunbathe along Benidorm's spectacular coastline will not be disappointed. With sandy beaches stretching for around 6 km / 4 miles, some of the most popular beaches in the Benidorm area include Levante Beach (Playa del Levante), Poniente Beach (Playa del Poniente) and Benidorm's Malpas Beach (Playa del Malpas).

The beaches in the Benidorm area each offer something quite different, with their own character and personality. Those looking for lively beach fun and plenty of recreation activities should be sure to head for Levante Beach, while those who want a more quiet spot to sunbathe should visit either Poniente Beach or Malpas Beach, both of which are less crowded. Benidorm Beaches: Levante Beach (Playa del Levante) - Benidorm, Costa Blanca, Spain
Without doubt Benidorm's biggest draw card, the Playa del Levante is a spectacular beach, with fine golden sand stretching for around 2 km / 1.5 miles. Despite the large crowds and lines of sun beds, Levante Beach remains appealing and offers excellent facilities.

Levante Beach is lined with a seafront promenade, which offers a range of shops, bars, cafés and restaurants, with plenty of outdoor tables and impressive views of the Benidorm coastline. Gently sloping into the warm water, the beach is particularly suitable for bathing and ideal for young children wanting to paddle. For those more adventurous, further out from Benidorm's Levante Beach you will find a range of diving boards, rafts and water slides, with lifeguards often on-hand during the summer months.

Facilities at Levante Beach are good, including meeting areas for children, refreshment kiosks and clean sand, which is refreshed early every morning. Water sports are always popular in the Benidorm area, particularly around Levante Beach, where water skiing, jet skiing, paragliding, snorkelling and scuba diving are all on offer.

Benidorm Beaches: Poniente Beach (Playa del Poniente) - Benidorm, Costa Blanca, Spain
A relaxed beach offering more of the traditional Spanish and Benidorm flavour, Poniente Beach lies to the west of Levante Beach and is a vast space. Just beyond Benidorm's Old Town district, the sands of Poniente Beach tend to be less crowded and although younger children are not so well catered for, the beach still has much to offer for those visiting Benidorm, with find golden sand and clear waters.

Sun beds are readily available for hire on Benidorm's Poniente Beach, together with refreshments and nearby shops. This spacious beach is always spotless and is cleaned every morning. Known for its spectacular sunsets, Poniente Beach is always popular with Benidorm tourists and also offers a range of water sports, ramps for the disabled, regular life guards and plenty of beach activities.

Benidorm Beaches: Malpas Beach (Playa del Malpas) - Benidorm, Costa Blanca, Spain
Close to Benidorm's harbour area and below both the castle cliffs and the main port, Malpas Beach is a lesser-known beach and is rarely crowded. With find sand and plenty of space for serious sunbathing, Malpas Beach is generally a quieter spot than both Levante Beach and Poniente Beach, although there is still plenty on offer, being close to central Benidorm.
